To all the great readers of this site, thanks for stopping by.  I'm headed out the door soon for some predeployment training and then will be deploying to Iraq for a few months working as a staff weenie.  I will most likely, become "Bob on the FOB" (Forward operating base) like many countless others. I am very much looking forward to the opportunity, while my family thinks I am nuts, not sure if they haven't been paying attention to me these past 24 years or so.  I hope to post one more long commentary before I head out

 I will probably not be able to write while deployed except for perhaps saying I'm OK and the chows good, if even that, but the site will go on and I've hopefully got some friends that will continue to write and we'll also be maintaining all the history and links. The idea for Excalibur R&D is not done, it's only being put on the shelf while I'm deployed but will hope to hit it hard when I return.  Please continue stopping by and seeing what our other writers have to say and I look forward to picking up again when I'm back.
