The MSM here at Washington Times and the blogosphere here at Powelineblog among many others are reporting on an alleged plot to attack the US Army base at Ft. Huachuca in Arizona, close to the Mexico border.  While details are there as to alleged numbers, types of weapons etc., the reports cite that the base is the home for many Intel and special operations training.

Actually, remember, terrorists pick symbolic targets for maximum effect.  The base is home to ALL US military interrogator training.  Given the cause celeb of Abu Ghraib, folks, the fact that interrogators are trained there is what made this a lucrative target.  I also believe that the families “outside the wire” were also vulnerable.  The symbolism of killing or wounding families of service members and contractors who conduct interrogations would be huge.  Good job by our Intel agencies disrupting this plot but there needs to be a permanent beefing up of security at the base and the local area as well. This will remain an enemy High Value Target.
