The wanted pedophile, Christopher Paul Neil, has been arrested by the Thai authorities.  We wrote about it here and here, this guy was arrested only eight days after Interpol released the unscrambled pictures.  See what a little collaboration can do…and no one got a reward, their reward was helping find a scumbag.  People ask me why would anyone want to participate in internet collaboration for national security…hmm, perhaps to interdict a terrorist cell.  Perhaps to catch perpetrators after they have struck?  Perhaps they have innovative ideas for national security but there is no way to get those vital ideas through the bureaucracy?  

The system we have for national security is all about survival: politicians reward big defense contractors who hire senior officials after they retire, who lobby their buddies on active duty and so on and so on…. The system is one big self defending and self perpetuating organism. Will this idea succeed….keep watching this space and have a great weekend!
