UPDATED: Thai police search for 32 year old Canadian man

Last night I posted here about the International manhunt led by Interpol for a sexual predator.  Last night they had his occupation, former job location, and now they have released his name: Christopher Paul Neil and they are searching SouthEast Asia for him.

So, here's the question:  is there more value in keeping a wanted person's name and images secret so as not to spook them or is it better to get it out and let the public help in the hunt?  America's Most Wanted has been a resounding success and to date 963 fugtitives have ben captured with their show.  You may know that the trail for the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski was cold until they released his full manifesto and his family turned him in.  Obiously, law enforcement and the intelligence services have much to weigh when deciding what to release, but time and time again, the public is becoming a valuable tool.
