in today’s NYTimes online, Freakonomics author Steven D. Levitt, wrote a story musing what he would do if he were a terrorist, goes on to provide some general thoughts and a nice little scenario he claims is from his father and this final gem:
I’m sure many readers have far better ideas. I would love to hear them. Consider that posting them could be a form of public service: I presume that a lot more folks who oppose and fight terror read this blog than actual terrorists. So by getting these ideas out in the open, it gives terror fighters a chance to consider and plan for these scenarios before they occur.
as I write this, there are 407 comments, split between aghast and disgust on one side and on the other spectrum, folks providing their little scenarios. I'm sorry, in my humble opinion; this is NOT a public service. I have long wondered if the editor for the New York Times was on the payroll of Al Qaeda as their Chief of Counterintelligence with all of their reporting on classified US intelligence programs. Now I wonder, is this writer applying for the job of Chief of Plans....
